- Tuesday, May 13, 2008 - First of all, we as a Somali society that we have to belief that our destiny rests merely with Allah (SWT) hands and secondly it is up to us to decide what will be our destiny and not foreigners. If we belief that Foreigners can solve our problem, think again. Foreigners particularly the Americans look only to their own interest.

Lately, the American foreign policy has been disaster all over the world. It has been also disaster particularly in Somalia because it repeated in Somalia the same mistakes it did both in Iraq and Afghanistan by not clearly understanding the big picture. Again, The American policy in Somalia is NOT well coordinated and it operates like a mentally sick person or a drunken sailor drifting in the Indian Ocean without campus. America has no Somali policy and even it is has a policy, it has no beginnings or endings.

This has been the American policy of Somalia. First, they supported the warlords who kept hostage for the Somali people for the last seventeen years and now they again are making the same mistakes by supporting the current corrupt Transitional Somali government who has no support from all Somali people except few people who are associated with the current so called president Abdullahi Yusuf.

Secondly, the officials who run the Somali affairs are incompetent and lack experience and knowledge about Somalia. The lady Jendy Fraizer who heads the Somali affairs runs around like poisoned fox which does not know which direction to go. Her latest failure came during the crisis in Kenya which almost caused Kenya to disintegrate like Somalia but fortunately, the intervention of former head of United Nation Kofi Anan at least solved some of the outstanding issues.

Thirdly, her unwavering support of the Tigreain Mob in Addis Ababa to occupy Somalia and without predicting the reaction of the Somali people and as a consequence of the birth insurgency group against the occupation unqualified her to hold such a position. Her incompetent and the lack knowledge and experience of African affairs and particularly not understanding the decade animosity and wars between Somalia an Ethiopia is sign of all the failure of the American foreign policy. If anyone wants to understand the American foreign policy, you only need to look this lady.

Further more; lately America has lost the moral ground and leadership of the world. It can not claim any more as the vanguard of the democracy, market economy, free speech, the rule of law and respect of human rights. After Abuguraib, Guantanamo and now supporting Tigrean gangs invasion of Somalia.

Shame on you, you American government and American policy makers how could you support the criminal Tigreain mob who violated the basic human rights of its people. Look what you are supporting. Its leader Mele Zenawi is a thug, a communist, a dictator and ruthless killer who also abuse and torture and all kill his opponents. Look the well respect human rights latest report. “on May 6, 2006, Amnesty International’s African Deputy Program director Micheele Kagari said, the people of Somalia are being killed, raped, tortured: widespread looting and entire neibourhoods are being destroyed.

Again, witness described to Amnesty International an increase incidence of Ethiopia troops killing people by what is locally termed slaughtering killing like a goat – referring to killing by slitting the throat”.

Furthermore, the support of the invasion of the Tigeran militia in Somalia was another miscalculated and misguided American policy toward Somalia. This policy was not based on facts or the true picture of Somalia internal tribal conflict. The Tigreian are stack and they can not do nothing except to collect pay cheque and wait until either is told by the American masters that their services are not needed any more or brought a replacement from neural countries which might itself may not work. The presence of Tigreian forces in Somalia has created animosity toward the Americans because every Somalia knows that crime committed by the Tigrain is responsible by them but also is responsible by the Americans. American war planes have bombed Somalia several times and killed innocent Somalis without a tangible result.

What the American should do:
America should play in Somali affairs constructively rather destructively. Since the late Somali government, the American Somali policy has been only destructive and now there is an opportunity which the American can play a positive role in the coming negotiation in Djibouti. They can be an honest broker. Leave alone Somali affair to the Somalis. Somalis do not needs American assistance in terms of financial or military assistance. Stop supporting the Tigrein occupations and tell them to leave Somalia. Do not support the current Transitional Somali Government because it does represent the Somali people. If the Tigrean leaves Somalia tomorrow, definitely the next day the so called transitional government will follow. There are thousands and thousands of Somali Diaspora who can play constructive role in building Somalia and can be also breach between the Somali interest and outside world.
